We are asked to work on another project, the dymanxion.
I almost want to faint as it cost me about Rm50++.
It drive me crazy as i spent 2 whole day to complete my dymanxion.

Dome Assemble part 1

As we ald know, 2day we will be asked to build our dome according to our section.
Everyone is needed to do their tasks by listening the order given by our lecturer, 1B.
We work hand in hand although it is very hot..

im in section 5 (Blue color)

1st, my group member and i needed to build the base b4 will can climb up to the top to build the other parts.

Everyone is finding their bamboo as most of them lost ald.

ARCHITECTURE?

            According to the definition from the internet (http://dictionary.reference.com/), architecture is defined as the profession of designing buildings, open areas, communities, and other artificial constructions and environments, usually with some regard to aesthetic effect. Architecture often includes design or selection of furnishings and decorations, supervision of construction work, and the examination, restoration, or remodeling of existing buildings. However, is this really what architecture is?

            Architecture is something very subjective. No words can truly define architecture. Architecture may be the combination of arts and science of buildings but is that just it? A production of a computer may combine arts and science, is that architecture? A construction of a typical housing lot may require the contribution of architects but it that really architecture? What exactly is architecture? In our opinion, architecture is something abstract that can be only expressed through our feelings from our heart. Architecture is the symbolism of one’s enthusiasm, hopes and dreams. It is something that is dealing with our thoughts, our emotions and our personalities. Architecture is architecture when u can feel with your heart and able to bring colours and difference to your life.

            What difference can we make? And how? Through unity? Through oneness? Or through love and faith? We must have infinite faith in each other. We must unite to make a difference. We must bring love and care into present world of misery. We, for a start can design sustainable buildings and promote green township. Instead of focusing on materialism and destructive development, we must put in our effort to serve the world and the people.

For the money we have gained, we lost the wonders of our nature, we lost humanity, and we lost everything, is that worth it? It’s time to change. We have to shift our mind and unite. As boundaries diffuse in this ever-shrinking world, unity plays a very important role. Only when we unite spiritually and morally, then can we truly cope with the challenges we will face.

            We, the future architects believe that we can make a difference. We are the ones we are waiting for. Our dreams will one day be fulfilled. This is the ultimate reason that we are present here.

Bamboo, bamboo........y c u again?

As usual, we would start our tasks immediately after the 101 class.
Ya....this time we were asked to cut the provided bamboo with the given measurement.

2day, when i still on my bed. My frenz wake me up and said that my lecturer want us to bring our own bamboo to skul.....

Celebrating at KFC~ Happy bt tired

BIG (Bamboo Interest group)

Today, almost all the BIG's members and Executive committee are invited to attend a talk on the topic of the apex leap.
Our lecturer begin his talk with talking about the introduction of BIG.
"It is our duty to to fulfill the Seven APEX Points. Big fulfill all the 6 points and only the seventh, that's up to us."
said 1b.
The last Apex point is.................Sacrifice.
If we never think about sacrifice, who is going to contribute to our beloved school?  
The program of APEX will fail if nobody wants to contribute.
Thus, no sacrifice = no BIG.
So, what should we do now?

From making pondok to ibu pondok, i c many things. Some of my frenz take it easy, 1 day b4 we submit our daughter dome, they only start to built their dome in the midnight. They were juz burning the midnight oil and din do it seriously. While building the Ibu pondok (since everyone is short of time), there are a lot of ppl only fixing their own bamboo and dint notice that there are many girls is crying for help....
Izit we havent awake?
To learn how to work hand in hand...
To learn how to unite.....Chinese should help Malay and vice verse.
To learn how to do anything seriously......dun b so lazy (including me), dun sleep too much....put our effort in contributing to our BIG and school.
So, The time for awakening has come..

Monumem

On Monday, in a group of 10 ppl, we went to Jewish cemetery immediately after our class 101.

Then, we are asked to create our own monument.
So, i decided to create a monument which consists of bamboo blocks only.
(using bamboos' woods to make rectangular blocks, the shape is just similar with the concrete blocks ).

Looking Forward

2012....is the end of the world???
Everyone will be wipe off from this planet? hard to believe it...
but im just a 3rd year archi student....many things i still hvnt do yet.
No one will know what will happened....
However, i am not believe my destiny is controlled by god,
my fate should be in my hand instead.
So, i wun just sit down and wait that day come and den die with doing nothing.

Honestly, i dun think dome can save us when 2012 hyper disaster come.
Is it only flooding?
How about tornado and earthquake?
Wun come that day?   
How about if we meet stunami when we hide inside the dome?  

However, we still cant give up so easily.
We need to alwiz update ourself with current issue and some of the new invention from scientist.    
so, our dome can upgraded and increase the probability of us to go through all the disaster.
Who know what will be created soon by scientist,
May be we can detect all the disasters by just observing the animal's moving or the sound wave later.
So, when stunami come, we go up to the mainland ; when the earthquake occurs, we can run back into sea...
Perhaps more scientist can get involded in creating useful survival kids.

 To sum up, we are not allowed to give up ourself.
And in my opinion, wat we need to do is:~
(1) updated with new inventions (may be can applied on dome).
(2) care of environmental issues.
(3) always upgrade our dome.
(4) tell more frenz about 2012 (may be can get more useful idea).
(5) lend a helping hand by joining rescue team to the country which damaged by natural disaster(if possible).
